This grant‑funded position, potentially renewable for up to one year, will focus on planning a conference and summer workshop, preparing materials for secondary school instructors, and managing relationships with partner institutions throughout the state.\n\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities\n\nDevelop, plan and prepare lessons, training guides, and materials for summer workshops hosted by the Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub. The 2027 workshop will be for secondary-education teachers from across Mississippi.\n\nPrepare content experts and staff to teach and support summer workshops.\n\nLead digital humanities workshops for both internal and statewide partners.\n\nAssist in the development of a statewide network of university and college digital humanities programs.\n\nAssist and support funded DH programs at USM and at partner institutions across the state in conjunction with University Libraries.\n\nAlong with Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub staff, plan, organize, and lead a conference on digitalization and the digital humanities for stakeholders in Mississippi.\n\nAdhere to Center for Digital Humanities, Mississippi Digital Humanities Hub, and university policies, procedures, and regulations, and perform other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nPhD in a humanities field (English, History, Philosophy), with as least one year's experience working in the digital humanities or DH pedagogy.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\n\nExperience working with digital humanities tools, pedagogy, and methods.\n\nExperience teaching, with special consideration given to experience teaching digital humanities skills to audiences with a range of experience.\n\nAbility to adjust work based on input and work within a collaborative, team environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience in workshop and/or conference planning.\n\nExperience with web site or programming.\n\nOne-year’s teaching experience.\n\nSpecial Instructions to Applicants\nPlease note: The Postdoctoral Digital Humanities Scholar is a one-year grant-funded position.\n\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship.
