In addition, there is premium meeting and event space, including a 6,000 square-foot pillar-less ballroom with three walls of windows overlooking Central Park.About The JobBased at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Culinary/ F&B Department in New York the Substitute Utility Steward is responsible for the cleaning of pot/dish washing, removal of garbage/boxes, silver polishing, sweeping, moping, and any other cleaning or organizational activity that may come up including inside of coolers and kitchen area. The Substitute Utility Steward will also help plate up and assist in the kitchen. Flexibility and a helpful attitude are paramount.As Substitute Utility Steward, you will responsible for the following duties:Follow the goals and missions for the stewarding departmentHelp to do the inventory of China, glasses, silver and hollowware from the outlets and the main storageProvide enough equipment (China, glasses, silver) to the outlets and banquets for the operationsFollow the cleaning schedule for the kitchen, pastry, garden manger, banquets, cafeteria and coolersFollow the weekly schedule for the employeesHelp kitchens whenever necessaryDo and follow the requisition for banquets from the B.E.Os.Follow the cleaning schedule for the dumpsterFollow the maintenance schedule for the dishwasher machinesAssist and provide the equipment for any banquets functionAssist and help banquets kitchen colleagues to plate upFollow the Hygiene and control program for the kitchen and surround areasDevelop and follow the training program for stewardsFollow the standard and procedures for departmentEstablish a good communication with the supervisor and colleaguesNOTE: The above is not an all-inclusive list of job duties and responsibilities.
