This role will focus on developing innovative, manufacturable material solutions that align with creative direction and product goals.You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life-from early ideation through to production-while balancing performance, cost, and aesthetic considerations.What You'll DoDevelop and deliver materials concepts and strategies aligned to seasonal or project-based creative directionDesign and specify textiles, synthetics, and performance materials for product applicationsTranslate insights and trends into original, forward-thinking material solutionsPartner with design, development, and external teams to bring concepts from idea to productionEvaluate materials for performance, durability, cost, and manufacturabilityCommunicate design intent and decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholdersContribute to a collaborative, fast-paced creative environment with a strong point of view What We're Looking For~5-7 years of experience in materials design, product design, or a related fieldBackground in performance materials (e.g., textiles, synthetics, polymers, coatings, or composites)Experience designing for physical products (footwear, apparel, automotive, consumer products, or similar)Strong understanding of how materials behave in manufacturing environmentsAbility to make and articulate clear, confident design decisionsProficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or similar)Strong communication and collaboration skills Nice to HaveExperience with footwear or wearable product designFamiliarity with 3D design or visualization toolsExposure to working with global manufacturing partnersInterest in or experience with sustainable materials Portfolio RequirementCandidates must provide a portfolio that demonstrates:Clear project storytelling (problem, approach, outcome)Examples of materials exploration and decision-makingEvidence of collaboration and impact on final products Why JoinThis is an opportunity to work on high-visibility, performance-driven products, collaborating with a diverse team of creatives and partners.
