There’s no one like you and that’s why there’s nowhere like RSM.\r\nSenior Database Developer Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer for a temporary engagement to lead a critical initiative involving the redesign and modernization of a legacy system for a financial services client. This role will focus on analyzing existing database architecture, translating complex business logic into scalable solutions, and building high-performance, compliant data models. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering robust, auditable, and secure data structures aligned with evolving business needs.\r\nKey Responsibilities:Analyze existing database architecture, decipher complex logic, and assess current data models.\r\nPartner with business stakeholders and product owners to gather and translate requirements into scalable database solutions.\r\nDesign and develop new data models, schemas, and database objects aligned with business needs and performance standards.\r\nBuild and optimize tables, stored procedures (SPROCs), and controls to ensure data integrity, performance, and auditability.\r\nImplement data governance controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal security requirements.\r\nSupport iterative development, refining database structures in response to evolving requirements.\r\nProvide guidance and mentorship to team members on data modeling best practices.\r\nCollaborate cross-functionally within an Agile environment using tools such as Jira and Confluence.\r\nRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.\r\n8–10 years of experience in SQL Server development/DBA, data modeling, and large-scale database environments (financial services preferred).\r\nStrong expertise in: Data migration, ETL processes, and integration tools (e.g., SSIS)\r\nData analysis, data quality, and data modeling\r\nWriting and optimizing complex stored procedures (SPROCs)\r\nSQL database testing and automation techniques\r\nProven experience developing high-performance, auditable database solutions.\r\nExperience implementing data controls, security, and regulatory compliance standards.\r\nPreferred / Nice to Have:Experience with reporting and visualization tools (SSRS, Tableau)\r\nExposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)\r\nFamiliarity with Microsoft full-stack technologies (.NET, C#, ASP.NET, Web API)\r\nExperience working within DevSecOps frameworks\r\nCore Skills & Attributes:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills\r\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities\r\nHighly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities\r\nExperience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments\r\nCollaborative mindset with Agile team experience\r\nAt RSM, we offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people.
