Marketing Writer

JDI Industrial Services is the industrial maintenance division of J. Davis Inc., a family-owned organization providing construction, grading, supplemental maintenance, and industrial services to South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina. The Marketing Writer is responsible for developing compelling written content that elevates JDI’s presence, engages target audiences across multiple platforms, and supports business development efforts through clear, persuasive communication. The ideal candidate brings strong writing ability, a working knowledge of SEO and best proposal practices, and a genuine eagerness to learn the technical language of industrial mechanical contracting.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Web ContentWork with Marketing Manager to plan, write, and publish optimized web content including servicepages, project spotlights, blog posts, and landing pages that reflect JDI capabilities in mechanicalconstruction and contracting.Conduct keyword research and apply on-page SEO best practices to improve organic search rankingsand drive qualified traffic to the company website.Collaborate with project teams to gather technical information and translate it into clear, audience-appropriate web copy.Ensure all written content is consistent in tone, brand voice, and industry terminology.Proposal WritingLead the writing, editing, and formatting of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests forQualifications (RFQs), and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs).Work closely with estimating, project management, and business development team to gather scopedetails, project narratives, and differentiators.Develop and maintain a library of reusable proposal content including company boilerplates, projectdescriptions, and staff bios.Manage proposal deadlines and coordinate review cycles to ensure on-time, polished submissions.Track proposal outcomes and identify trends to improve win rates over time.Social Media:Develop and maintain a content calendar for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other relevantplatforms.Write and schedule posts showcasing completed projects, company culture, industry expertise, safetymilestones, and community involvement.Engage with followers, respond to comments, and grow the company's online community.Photograph internal events and special occasions; organize and maintain content on the companyserverMonitor social media analytics and adjust strategy to improve reach, engagement, and follower growth.Coordinate with the Marketing Manager, field teams, and project managers to source project sitecontent.General Marketing Support:Assist with the development of marketing collateral including brochures, case studies, award submissions, and trade show materials.Support internal communications as needed.Stay current on industry trends in mechanical construction, contracting, and B2B marketing.Skills and Qualifications:Experience in web writing, with a strong understanding of SEO principles and the ability to synthesizecomplex information into compelling narrativesProficiency with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social)Excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, and editing skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with mechanical construction or commercial/industrial contracting preferred but not required.3+ years of professional experience in marketing, content writing or proposal coordination, preferably withinconstruction, engineering, or a related trade industryAssociate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, English, journalism or Related Field orexperience.Benefits:Employer-paid benefits option package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) and 401(k) matchingPaid time off and Paid HolidaysAuto AllowanceCell Phone AllowanceParental leaveClothing AllowanceGym ReimbursementEmployee assistance programLife CoachWellness ProgramLife insuranceShort- and Long-Term DisabilityGrowth opportunitiesMuch more!
