Chief Financial Officer

CFO$225-275k plus 20-30% bonus Colorado Springs, COA well-established, highly profitable company in the Engineering Services space is conducting a search for its first Chief Financial Officer. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the CEO with a clear mandate to build out the strategic finance function and support continued growth through M&A.ResponsibilitiesServe as the strategic financial partner to the CEO, providing analysis and recommendations to support business decisions and growth initiativesOwn FP&A including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ROI reportingLead M&A activity including deal evaluation, quality of earnings, purchase accounting, due diligence, and post-close integrationOversee project accounting including WIP, percentage of completion, revenue recognition, and job costing across federal and commercial contractsManage treasury, cash flow planning, and risk managementDrive ERP adoption and enhancement with a focus on project management, resource planning, and back-end reportingEnsure compliance with federal contracting regulations and reporting requirementsLead the annual budget process and ongoing financial reporting to senior leadershipQualificationsProven financial leadership with a strong foundation in project accounting — WIP, revenue recognition, percentage of completion, and job costingM&A experience required including comfort with purchase accounting and quality of earningsIndustry background in construction, engineering, defense contracting, or other project-based environments strongly preferredERP implementation or enhancement experience a plusCPA, MAcc, public accounting, or PE-backed company experience preferred but not requiredStrong communicator with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
