The Engineer will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, suppliers, and Project Management throughout the proposal process and support a smooth project handoff following contract award.\nKey Responsibilities\nProposal Development\nReview customer RFQs, technical specifications, drawings, layouts, and tender documents.\nAnalyze project scope, technical requirements, commercial expectations, and potential risks.\nDevelop complete technical and commercial proposal packages.\nDefine project assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and execution strategies.\nParticipate in internal proposal reviews and customer presentations.\nEnsure proposals are accurate, competitive, complete, and submitted on schedule.\nManage multiple proposal activities and deadlines simultaneously.\nEstimating and Cost Analysis\nPrepare detailed cost estimates for industrial equipment and turnkey projects.\nDevelop preliminary Bills of Materials and equipment lists.\nEstimate engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up labor hours.\nPrepare material take-offs and equipment quantity calculations.\nRequest, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.\nIdentify potential cost reductions and value-engineering opportunities.\nAssist with pricing strategies and commercial proposal development.\nEngineering Support\nDevelop preliminary equipment layouts, mechanical concepts, and process solutions.\nPerform mechanical calculations and preliminary equipment sizing.\nReview customer layouts, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.\nCoordinate proposal requirements with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Process Engineering teams.\nConfirm that proposed solutions meet customer specifications and project requirements.\nSupport the technical and commercial handoff to Project Management and Engineering after contract award.\nSupplier and Customer Coordination\nPrepare requests for supplier and subcontractor quotations.\nCoordinate technical discussions with equipment manufacturers and vendors.\nEvaluate supplier proposals for technical compliance, pricing, and scope coverage.\nRespond to customer questions and requests for clarification during the proposal stage.\nSupport customer meetings, technical presentations, and proposal reviews.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nAt least five years of experience in proposal engineering, estimating, applications engineering, industrial project engineering, or a related position.\nExperience developing both technical and commercial proposals.\nStrong knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment and systems.\nExperience reviewing engineering drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, and project documentation.\nAbility to develop project cost estimates, Bills of Materials, material take-offs, and labor-hour estimates.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong technical writing and proposal-development skills.\nAbility to manage multiple proposals while meeting customer and internal deadlines.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:\nPretreatment systems\nPowder-coating systems\nWet-paint systems\nIndustrial ovens and curing systems\nConveyor and material-handling systems\nAir-handling and ventilation systems\nIndustrial process piping\nEnvironmental systems\nAutomotive manufacturing facilities\nTurnkey industrial projects\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency with AutoCAD and 3D design or drawing software\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint\nMicrosoft Project experience preferred\nPay: $80,000.00 -
