This role leads initiatives to reduce workplace hazards, prevent injuries and illnesses, and foster a strong safety culture across the organization.\nThe EHS Manager works closely with employees and leadership to maintain regulatory compliance, deliver training programs, and continuously improve workplace safety and environmental practices.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety & Compliance Programs\nDevelop, implement, and audit environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.\nCreate and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to safety and environmental compliance.\nAdminister and manage programs including:\nIllness & Injury Prevention\nForklift Safety\nLockout/Tagout (LOTO)\nVehicle Safety\nHazard Communication\nChemical Hygiene\nRespiratory Protection\nHearing Conservation\nHazardous Waste Management\nHazardous Waste Source Reduction\nWastewater Management and Reporting\nSpill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC)\nFume Hood Compliance\nEmergency Response and Evacuation\nAutomated External Defibrillator (AED)\nEnvironmental & Regulatory Compliance\nEnsure compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations including OSHA, Cal OSHA, EPA, DOT, AQMD, DTSC, HAZMAT, Regional Water Control Board, and other relevant regulatory requirements.\nMaintain permits, required reporting, and regulatory documentation.\nServe as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspections.\nMonitoring & Incident Management\nAdminister and monitor industrial hygiene sampling and communicate exposure risks and personal protective equipment requirements to employees.\nConduct accident and injury investigations, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.\nMaintain the health and safety statistics database, including OSHA 300 logs and monthly reporting.\nTraining & Safety Culture\nDeliver safety orientation for new hires and provide ongoing safety training programs including:\nChemical safety\nForklift operation\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE)\nHearing conservation\nCPR and First Aid\nErgonomics\nHazard communication\nPromote safe work practices and industrial hygiene, including compliance with Class 8 Clean Room requirements.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nProvide technical assistance, training, and work direction to other departments.\nAnalyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations to support company safety goals.\nRespond to workplace safety concerns and regulatory inquiries.\nAdministration\nMaintain EHS documentation and reporting systems.\nManage the EHS department budget.\nEnsure awareness and compliance with relevant quality management system requirements, including quality policies and job-related procedures.\nRequired Qualifications & Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).\nExperience in polymer film manufacturing environments preferred.\nAbility to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.\nMathematics and reasoning skills sufficient to perform job-related analysis and problem-solving.\nKnowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and the ability to evaluate and correct process problems on manufacturing equipment.\nKnowledge of environmental and safety regulations including OSHA and related regulatory frameworks.\nAbility to interpret written regulatory and organizational documents (including OSHA and ISO requirements) and apply them appropriately.\nAbility to interact effectively with plant personnel at all levels to achieve organizational goals and requirements.\nAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.\nAbility to communicate and participate in joint projects with customers and other facilities.\nDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to maintain documented competency in any required specialized skills associated with the position.\n\nAbout the Company\nOur client is a Global Manufacturer with over 30 locations worldwide.
