Mercy Health is seeking a compassionate and collaborative PRN Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Ambulatory Surgery and Prep & Recovery team at St. Anne Surgery Center in the Toledo market.This is an excellent opportunity for an APC who enjoys working in a fast-paced outpatient procedural environment while building strong interdisciplinary relationships with anesthesia, pre-admission testing, nursing, and surgical teams. Experienced candidates are preferred; however, motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply and will benefit from mentorship within an established APC team.Position HighlightsFull-time outpatient positionAmbulatory Surgery / Prep & Recovery settingSupportive onboarding and mentorship with experienced full-time NPsCollaborative multidisciplinary team environmentOpportunity to practice with a high degree of autonomyResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive pre-operative History & Physical (H&P) assessments for surgical patientsEvaluate outpatient pre-op patients dailyCollaborate closely with anesthesia providers and Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) teams to optimize surgical readinessExercise independent clinical judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of appropriate medical management within scope of practiceObtain and document detailed health histories and physical examinationsIdentify patient problems, formulate diagnoses, and communicate findings effectively with the healthcare teamInitiate emergency interventions, including CPR and other appropriate therapies when necessaryComplete and close patient encounters within 24 hoursPerform additional duties consistent with those customarily provided by a licensed independent practitionerQualificationsCertified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)Active Ohio licensure or eligibility for licensureStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to thrive in a collaborative, high-volume outpatient environmentPrevious surgical, perioperative, internal medicine, family medicine, or hospital-based experience preferred, but not requiredWhy Mercy Health?At Mercy Health, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care that improves the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
