Come join us!\nThe Role We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer who displays strong communication, interpersonal skills, and embraces a growth mindset. This position will lead design projects, ensure product conformity to internal and regulatory standards, support production personnel during new design testing and validation, and assist the Engineering Manager in specialty equipment feasibility reviews. This individual will utilize computer-aided design software to create 2D and 3D models of parts and equipment. This is an on-site role in Rockford, MI. There is no relocation for this role, if you do not live in the Grand Rapids, MI. area, you will not be considered for this role.\nKey Responsibilities Lead design efforts of specialty equipment, adhering to customer specifications.\nCreate surface and solid CAD models to satisfy design requirements.\nWork with a design team and individually on CAD projects.\nValidate new designs, ensuring products meet or exceed quality and performance standards.\nExecute engineering change orders.\nCreate assembly documentation and user manuals from CAD drawings.\nParticipate in DFMEA and DFM activities.\nConduct root cause analysis on issues identified during production or customer use to improve product performance or durability.\nCollect and analyze data on equipment performance using engineering analysis tools and techniques.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives.\nReview safety standards and make changes as applicable to ensure compliance with regulations.\nMaintain knowledge of new and developing industry technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend product enhancements.\nWork effectively in a team environment.\nMust be willing to travel to APPLIED facilities.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nYou Are Ideal for This Role If You Are well organized, process and data driven, and have solid analytical skills.\nWork well as part of a team and individually on projects.\nAre proactive in nature.\nPhysical Requirements The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.\nPossess mechanical dexterity to perform equipment operation.\nFrequently moves items weighing up to 35 lbs.\nThe ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).\nExperience and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.\nAt least 3 years of engineering experience is required.\nExcellent engineering/mechanical aptitude required.\nExcellent communication and time management skills required.\nKnowledge of component design for manufacturability in machining centers required.\nAdvanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software; SolidWorks preferred.\nPrior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers preferred.\nKnowledge of electrical and pneumatic control circuits preferred.\nFamiliarity with fluids calculations preferred.\nWhy Work for Us Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits\n401k Match\nFlexible and Team-Oriented work environment\nGenerous PTO policy\nTuition Reimbursement\nEmployee Assistance Program\nCareer and talent development opportunities as well as opportunities for personal growth\nOur Core Values Team-Oriented We win together!
