This person will create a system of processes and procedures for the staff to follow in order to keep extrusion lines, mixing equipment, and final process equipment running continuously and efficiently and producing products that meet quality standards. This person will design, plan and implement improvements in all aspects of the production processes to continually improve efficiency. Lean manufacturing practices, 5S training, six sigma training experience required and important in your daily functions.RequirementsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUse Statistical Process Control in the continuous improvement effortAssist in troubleshooting and solve problems of large systems and processesMonitor manufacturing variances so that problem solving and improvement opportunities are identifiedProvide timely resolution of product, process and equipment problems in the form of creative short- and long-term solutionsAssist in development, testing and improving manufacturing processes for new and existing products that optimize operation, reduce product variability, and increase yieldsDevelop machine specifications, identify, and evaluate suppliers, then procure, install and de-bug equipment from outside suppliers for general manufacturing and secondary processesComply with Modern Mill safety policies and proceduresRegular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibilityQualificationsExcellent mechanical aptitudeMust have passion and drive to continuously improveExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong initiative, self-directed and takes action on opportunitiesProblem-solving ability, good documentation skills, and preferred manufacturing practicesDemonstrated knowledge of CAD, SolidworksEducation And/or ExperienceEngineering Degree.
