The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership during a structured transition period and will ultimately assume responsibility for the organization's technology strategy and operations.This role is ideal for an IT Operations Manager, IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Technical Business Analyst, or Director of IT looking to take the next step in their career.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Operations & End User SupportProvide leadership and oversight for day-to-day IT operations across multiple office locations.Support end users with technology issues, including desktop, laptop, mobile device, and account-related troubleshooting.Partner with third-party technology providers to ensure reliable service delivery and issue resolution.Assist with technology deployments, upgrades, and operational improvements.Vendor Management & Strategic PlanningManage relationships with technology vendors, managed service providers, and software partners.Review contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), renewals, and vendor performance metrics.Evaluate technology investments and provide cost-benefit recommendations to leadership.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.Cybersecurity & Risk ManagementMaintain awareness of cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.Participate in security reviews, incident response discussions, and risk assessments.Support initiatives related to identity management, multi-factor authentication, endpoint security, and compliance.Exercise sound judgment when evaluating security concerns and escalation requirements.Analytics, Reporting & AI InnovationAnalyze vendor reports, operational metrics, technology spending, and support trends.Create reports and recommendations that help leadership make informed business decisions.Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and related productivity tools.Help identify opportunities where AI can improve business processes, efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.Leadership Development & CIO SuccessionPartner closely with executive leadership to gain exposure to strategic technology planning.Learn the organization's technology landscape, business processes, vendor ecosystem, and operational priorities.Gradually assume responsibility for technology leadership functions as part of a planned succession process.Develop into the organization's future CIO.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in IT Operations, IT Management, Business Analysis, Infrastructure Support, or related technology roles.Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including user administration and licensing.Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure cloud services, and endpoint management.Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including MFA, phishing awareness, identity management, and endpoint security.Experience working with vendors, service providers, contracts, and technology procurement.Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and make business recommendations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience working within a regulated, professional services, insurance, financial services, legal, or healthcare environment.Experience partnering with managed service providers (MSPs).Knowledge of AI technologies and practical business applications.Exposure to budgeting, technology planning, and executive-level reporting.Industry certifications such as Security+, ITIL, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, or related credentials.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is someone who combines strong business judgment, technical curiosity, and a hands-on leadership style.
