Brief DescriptionNature & ScopeWe are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Inspection Examiner to conduct inspection and testing of water-based fire suppression systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of codes and standards pertaining to fire sprinklers.Essential FunctionsCommunity ManagementInspect fire sprinkler systems in Asssisted Living/Memory Care and Independent Living Communities to ensure functionality and compliance with fire codesIdentify damaged, non-functioning, or missing components that could impair fire suppression capabilitiesDocument detailed reports on findings after visual inspection and perform hydrostatic testingCheck that all control valves, fire department connections, and related equipment are unobstructed and in good conditionVerify correct positioning and coverage of sprinkler headsReview building plans and system design documents to confirm proper installationProvide consultation on necessary modifications or repairs to building owners and contractorsMaintain inspection records and submit reports to the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)Stay up to date on the latest codes, standards, and best practicesRequirements In-depth familiarity with NFPA codes and standards for sprinkler systems Certification for commercial fire sprinkler inspection from national/state organizations Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills Ability to read piping schematics and building plans Strong written and verbal communication abilities Computer literacy with MS Office and related software Valid driver’s license with clean recordWorking conditions (travel, hours, environment)Able to work full-time, with some weekend work.Travel required (40%).Is subject to frequent interruptions.OSHA category classificationII: Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogen
