Sr. Procurement Specialist
Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Procurement Specialist / Procurement Sourcing Specialist for a Contract position with a client in Sylmar, CA. The hiring manager strongly prefers candidates for the Sylmar location but will also consider candidates based in Scottsdale, AZ if needed.Rate Range: $50/hour to $52/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Sr. Procurement Specialist Job Responsibilities IncludeLead and manage multiple supply chain and procurement projects simultaneously, including enterprise initiatives focused on supplier risk mitigation and supply chain resilience.Analyze supplier quotes, bids, RFQs, and RFPs; recommend best total‑cost sourcing strategies.Source, evaluate, and qualify mechanical and electrical vendors for medical device components.Lead supplier negotiations, pricing discussions, contract development, and vendor onboarding activities.Manage procurement requests, purchase orders, and ongoing vendor communications.Track and report project milestones, procurement timelines, savings initiatives, and KPIs.Support tariff mitigation strategies and identify second‑source and alternate supplier opportunities.Maintain accurate documentation of sourcing decisions, supplier performance, and contract records.Prepare and present procurement analysis, reports, and findings to executive‑level stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).4+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, supply chain, technical project management, or finance—preferably within medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry.Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong experience with data analysis and visualization.Ability to work independently without direct supervision while meeting deadlines and schedules.Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and project management skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in medical device manufacturing or regulated supply chains.Prior procurement or analyst‑focused role experience.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
