Field Service Technician

Primary Responsibility: The role of Field Service Technician is to provide onsite, and remote, service and support to Maxcess customers while working collaboratively with all internal teams.Duties and Responsibilities:Daily communications, both verbal and written, with customers, sales, engineering and manufacturingOnsite and remote support for customers and all associated to service and support matters, to include internal and external associatesInitiate test and troubleshooting, onsite and remotely, to diagnosis electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipmentComplete onsite repair, replacement and upgrade of existing equipment Complete installation and test, onsite and remotely, of new electronic, mechanical and hydraulic equipmentMaintain tools and equipment required to provide hands on work at customer locationEnsure equipment, parts and tools are onsite at customer location to enable a successful service visitComplete hands on training of customer, manufacturing and sales employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisionsPerform onsite application reviews making application and product recommendationAssist Sales and customer in ROI calulations for upgrades and new sales opportunitiesComplete detailed written reports for all services provided onsite and remotelyProvide detailed sales recommendations for new, upgrade and replacement partsEnter quotes and orders related to field service and supportManage scheduling of all onsite and remote serviceWork collabrotively with manufacturing and engineering to ensure service schedule coverageManage waste responsibly (utilize proper containers, participate in the recycling programs)Promote energy conservationMaintain safety compliance for all International, Federal, State and Site specific service requirementsActively support and maintain business objectives and initiativesOther duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resourcesExcellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, Epicor, SalesForce, & all travel platformsAbility to read blueprints and drawings understanding tolerancing and specificationsGood understanding of machining/shop mathematicsAbility to use precision measurement tools, micometer, calipers, digital protractors, scales, etcTravel globallySelf-managed and capable of completing tasks in a timely mannerEducation/Experience:Minimum of high school diploma or GED, Technical Diploma, or equivalent industry experience 5+ years experience in industrial, mechanical, electromechancial, converting or paper making requiredPhysical requirements:Work in conditions typical of an industrial manufacturing environment – noise, dust, odors and temperature variationAbility to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs of force frequently and 20 lbs of force constantly to move product.Sit/stand/walk 8-16 hours a day (NOTE: at times onsite work requires up to 16hrs a day, this is not a sustained requirement, but can be required in specific situations)Strenuous position requiring continuous bending, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hand/finger dexterity, twisting, grasping, feeling, and occasional stooping, crouching, repetitive motion and eye to hand coordination.Good corrected vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
