Business Development Representative - Hudson Valley, NY Location: Remote, United States Date Posted: May 15, 2026The Business Development Representative is responsible for expanding our company’s customer base and improving territory coverage ratio by cultivating relationships with new and existing customers, generating new sales leads, initiating exploratory calls with prospective customers, and supporting the Functional Medicine Consultants. This role will serve as a key part of the sales organization, focused on uncovering new business and creating qualified sales opportunities for our Functional Medicine Consultants.$55,000 - $60,000Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach with customers purchasing less than $500/month.Research and develop a database of potential leads through online resources, cold calling. Make 25 calls each day resulting in 4-6 scheduled quality engagements for FMCs.Establish contact with potential leads and introduce them to the company’s products or services.Initiate exploratory calls with prospects to see if they’d be an ideal customer. Identify the needs and challenges of the customer (are they a good fit for DFH? How can DFH help the practitioner grow their practice and generate revenue through the sale of supplements).Determine the prospect’s interest in supplement sales.Build rapport with potential leads and establish trust to encourage them to do business with the company, and networking.Cultivate relationships, schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects, and fill the pipeline for the sales team.Keep track of all interactions with potential leads with detailed notes in the company’s customer relationship management system.Update the status of each lead in the customer relationship management system on a regular basis.Use BadgerMaps and 8x8 platform.Work closely with the sales team to ensure that all leads are followed up on in a timely manner.Submit tracking of account growth and appointment setting to supervisor on a weekly basis.Achieve higher territory growth in comparison to national average.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a relevant field.Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills.Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role.Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures.Interest in functional medicine and nutritional supplements.At least one year of professional experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.In-depth understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and with a team.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
