RN Pre-Op / Inpatient – NightsBaylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie (WAX)Full-Time | Night ShiftBaylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Pre-Op / Inpatient (Nights) to join our Day Surgery – Extended Stay Unit. This role supports post-operative surgical patients requiring overnight monitoring and next-day discharge, as well as select ED or pre-/post-surgical patients.Position DetailsStatus: Full-TimeShift: Nights – 6:45 PM–7:15 AMSchedule: Set schedule – Tuesday, Wednesday, ThursdayWeekends: NoneCall: NoneDepartment OverviewUnit: Day Surgery – Extended StayPatient Population: Post-op total joint (knee and hip) patients held overnight for next-day discharge; ED or other surgical patients as neededUnit Size: 4 roomsStaffing: 2 RNs per shiftKey ResponsibilitiesProvide pre- and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients requiring overnight observationMonitor and manage post-op total joint patients to support safe next-day dischargeAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary teamAdminister medications and treatments per physician orders and BSWH protocolsDocument accurately in Epic EMRDeliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining safety and quality standardsRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited RN programCurrent Texas RN license (or compact license)BLS certification (ACLS as required by policy)Minimum Med-Surg nursing experience requiredEpic experience requiredPreferred QualificationsICU experienceSurgical nursing experience (pre-op and/or post-op)5+ years of RN experienceAbout UsHere at Baylor Scott & White Health we promote the well-being of all individuals, families, and communities.
