This position includes working with all levels of management, engineering, and other departments to create and select next generation technologies and products. This position is full-time and exempt. Location of this position is in Chandler, AZ.\nKey Job Responsibilities:\nThought leader on mechanical engineering product improvements, technology vision, and roadmaps.\nEnsure that product evolution and innovation meet customer needs and remains ahead of market trends and competition.\nNew product development owning parts and assemblies from concept through production implementation.\nVetting product concepts for customer needs, ease of installation, business cases, manufacturability, reliability, and safety.\nLead design review process and approve critical design decisions.\nObtain components/supplies/equipment to support prototype assembly and conduct preliminary OEM vendor assessment/selection.\nAnalyze different materials, techniques, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors in the developmental process.\nManage fabrication and testing of new designs.\nSelect the best product innovation and concept designs to bring into the product line.\nProvide technical leadership for key engineering projects.\nProvide regular updates to management.\nWork cross-functionally with other engineering teams and company departments to achieve company goals.\nCreate and maintain necessary documentation for program success.\nPerform competitive analyses.\nWork with customer facing departments to ensure that customer feedback and experience is accounted for in product improvements.\nMentor junior engineers.\nQualifications:\n10+ Years design experience designing electromechanical equipment with structural components, gearing, and/or drivetrains.\nDesign skills such as FMEA, DFA, DFM, design for cost.\nDesign experience using SolidWorks.\nFEA experience using SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.\nDirect experience in solar industry.\nMust be able to thoroughly and accurately document design intent, analysis results, test results, etc., in written form.\nMust have good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.\nAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.\nMust communicate effectively with engineers, drafters, and others within the company.\nExperience working in a matrixed environment, interfacing with high-level internal and external leadership.\nExperience defining and setting up tests to validate designs.\nPreferred qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineering Certification.\nExperience with structural components applied with civil engineering experience and wind loading.\nExperience with Stage Gate Product Development Processes\nAt Array Tech, Inc., we strive to lead with our culture, and believe that our people are a key enabler of our future state.
