You’ll collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and full-stack engineers, along with product managers, data scientists, and designers, to help build an experimentation platform that balances power and accessibility. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, performant services using Go and RESTful APIs, and user experiences built with React and TypeScript. We have a robust product roadmap, and we are actively expanding our teams to execute on it.\nResponsibilities:\nContribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and performant solutions for experimentation and data-driven products, with attention to usability and maintainability.\nCollaborate with senior engineers on architectural decisions that impact system scalability and performance.\nLead limited scope features from definition to deployment\nHelp identify and troubleshoot performance issues and participate in efforts to optimize service reliability.\nWork closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and designers to implement new features and iterate on existing functionality.\nParticipate in code reviews to support code quality and share constructive feedback with teammates.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that enhances the reusability and readability of team systems.\nContribute to the team’s efforts to improve observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.\nHelp investigate and resolve production issues, occasionally partnering with customer support or other teams as needed.\nCollaborate across functions to align on priorities, surface blockers, and improve team workflows.\nLearn from and support more senior engineers, and contribute to a culture of growth, inclusion, and continuous improvement.\nStay current with industry trends related to software development, experimentation, and backend technologies.\nDemonstrate curiosity, creative thinking, and a proactive mindset in problem-solving.\nQualifications:\n4+ years of hands-on experience building full stack web applications. Familiarity with Typescript, React, Node, and Go is preferred but not required.\nSolid grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, and coding best practices.\nExposure to building or maintaining scalable, production-grade systems.\nFamiliarity with observability practices and tools (e.g., logging, metrics, monitoring).\nExperience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.\nStrong collaboration and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.\nComfortable working in Agile development environments.\nExperience with CI/CD practices and tools.\nPassion for writing high-quality code and continuously improving engineering practices.\nA self-motivated approach and willingness to take initiative.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.\nPrior experience working with or contributing to distributed teams is a plus.\nPay:\nTarget pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 3:\nZone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $171,200 - $235,400**\nZone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $154,100 - $211,860**\nZone 3: All other US locations - $145,500 - $200,090 **\nLaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs.
