The Operations Intelligence team partners across Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Enterprise IT to build trusted data products, scalable pipelines, and analytics capabilities that support operational decision-making across Dexcom.\nThis Data Engineer II role will help maintain and improve the data infrastructure that powers manufacturing analytics, reporting, and operational insights. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented data professional who enjoys solving practical business problems, learning modern cloud data engineering practices, and partnering with stakeholders to translate operational needs into reliable data solutions.\nWhere you come in\nYou will maintain and enhance existing data infrastructure, pipelines, and data models that support Manufacturing Operations analytics and reporting.\nYou will write, debug, and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries, including joins, aggregations, and data validation logic.\nYou will support data modeling and data transformation activities in BigQuery using established standards and guidance from senior team members.\nYou will assist with ETL and ELT pipeline development using tools such as Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, dbt, and related cloud data services.\nYou will help troubleshoot pipeline failures, data quality issues, and source-to-target discrepancies to ensure reliable delivery of trusted data.\nYou will partner with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements for datasets, dashboards, reports, and operational metrics.\nYou will support documentation of data sources, data definitions, workflows, lineage, and pipeline logic to improve transparency and sustainability.\nYou will participate in Agile delivery practices, including Jira-based task management, sprint planning, status updates, and knowledge sharing.\nYou will develop foundational cloud engineering skills, including use of Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, and core GCP services.\nYou will begin cross-training in Dexcom manufacturing, operations, and quality domains to better understand how data supports safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes.\nWhat makes you successful\nYou have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Analytics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\nYou have foundational experience maintaining data pipelines, data workflows, databases, or analytics infrastructure.\nYou are proficient in basic SQL, including joins, filtering, aggregations, and query troubleshooting.\nYou have exposure to data modeling concepts and can support basic data model development in cloud data platforms such as BigQuery.\nYou understand fundamental programming concepts, debugging practices, and object-oriented programming principles.\nYou have a basic understanding of cloud services, preferably Google Cloud Platform.\nYou are familiar with ETL or ELT concepts and have exposure to tools such as Google Cloud Dataflow, Apache Beam, dbt, or similar technologies.\nYou demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, quality, and documentation.\nYou can independently gather basic business requirements and clarify stakeholder needs with guidance.\nYou communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners and are comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.\nPreferred qualifications\nExposure to Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, or other GCP data services.\nInterest in working toward Google Associate Cloud Engineer or related cloud certification.\nFamiliarity with Jira, Agile software development practices, or ticket-based delivery workflows.\nExperience supporting manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, or regulated industry data.\nExposure to descriptive statistics, data validation, SPC concepts, or operational KPI reporting.\nFamiliarity with source control, documentation practices, and data governance concepts.\nInterest in developing deeper skills in data engineering, pipeline orchestration, data quality, and analytics enablement.\nWhat you’ll get:\nA front row seat to life changing CGM technology.
