We’ve completed and are currently involved in a number of complex projects incorporating our values of technical excellence, sustainability, and improving communities.\n\nThe structural engineer will provide a technical role in developing projects. Typical transportation related projects include bridges (rail/LRT/road), retaining walls, underground and buried structures, transit station structures, and miscellaneous civil structures.\n\nResponsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:\n\nDeveloping conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs using industry-standard analysis and design software.\nActively participating in project, client, and team meetings.\nAssisting and mentoring junior staff.\nReviewing, preparing, and modifying designs.\nAnalyzing and preparing type studies, reports, specifications, quantities, and estimates.\nInteracting with team members and assisting in the coordination of work with technicians and design professional from other disciplines.\nAttending onsite meetings.\nGaining exposure to project, commercial, and client management.\nUndertaking a ‘digital by default’ approach in deliverables.\nSupporting our ‘Purpose’ in everything you do.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have the following experience:\n\nA bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited university\n7+ years of structural engineering experience\nExperience working with AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, ASCE, and CBC design codes and standards.\nProficient in the design of structures and foundations using cast-in-place reinforced concrete, precast/prestressed concrete, post-tensioned concrete, and structural steel.\nMethodical approach to problem solving to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.\nExcellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.\nExcellent technical written communication and attention to detail, with an ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.\nExcellent teamwork skills, to collaborate effectively with colleagues.\nA Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain one within one year.\nA positive attitude, strong commitment for technical excellence, high ethical standards, and an eagerness to learn and perform a wide variety of tasks are a must.\n\nBenefits & Reward\n\nAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.
