Devops Engineer

Job DescriptionThe DevOps Engineer designs and manages database architecture, CI/CD pipeline infrastructure, and on-premises platform services across all Business Units. This role owns advanced performance optimization, disaster recovery strategy, and platform infrastructure including Redis, MinIO, and Kafka. The DevOps Engineer provides oversight of Linux/Windows server infrastructure and security compliance.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign and manage SQL Server database architecture including high availability (AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Mirroring), replication, and capacity planningOwn advanced database performance optimization — query tuning, index strategy, partitioning, and resource utilizationDesign, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows across environmentsArchitect, deploy, and manage on-premises platform infrastructure including Redis clusters, MinIO storage, Kafka brokers, and Docker containersArchitect and maintain disaster recovery procedures, validate RPO/RTO, and conduct regular DR testingEvaluate, prototype, and introduce new technologies — including platform services (Redis, MinIO, Kafka, RabbitMQ) — in on-premises environmentsCoordinate with Software Engineers on database design, schema optimization, and deployment strategiesProvide oversight of Linux and Windows server infrastructure and security complianceLead root cause analysis and remediation for critical database and infrastructure incidentsDefine and maintain database standards, naming conventions, and operational procedures for the teamSupport compliance audits and ensure database systems meet regulatory and corporate security requirementsPerform other duties as assignedRequired:SQL Server architecture — high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planningT-SQL optimization, indexing strategies, query plan analysis, and database internalsCI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Pipelines)Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administrationDatabase disaster recovery planning, testing, and executionDocker containerization in on-premises environmentsPreferred:Microsoft certifications in SQL Server or Azure Data (DP-300, or equivalent)Hands-on experience with on-premises platform services (Redis, MinIO, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch)Experience with database automation using PowerShell, dbatools, or similar scripting toolsExperience with other database platforms (PostgreSQL, Oracle) in addition to SQL ServerKnowledge of ITIL framework and service management practicesEducation and Experience:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline3+ years of experience in database administration with hands-on SQL Server and CI/CD pipeline expertisePreferred:Master’s degree or relevant certifications5+ years with experience managing on-premises platform infrastructure at scaleFoxconn Assembly, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
