A commitment to innovation and a passion for disrupting the old-fashioned real estate industry are our highest priorities.\n\nThe Impact You Will Have\nAs an Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional software engineering team responsible for designing, building, and delivering scalable applications and platform capabilities. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and hands-on collaboration to support the delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with product and business priorities.\n\nWorking closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data teams, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will help guide technical strategy, support team development, and drive execution across the software development lifecycle.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\nLead and develop a cross-functional team of Frontend, Backend/API, and Quality Assurance engineers.\nPartner with Product Managers to translate product requirements into technical solutions, delivery plans, and engineering priorities.\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing iteration.\nProvide technical leadership and architectural guidance across backend services, APIs, and application development.\nSupport the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems and data workflows using technologies such as Python, Airflow, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.\nCollaborate with Product, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to support data-driven application experiences.\nPromote engineering best practices related to code quality, testing, monitoring, scalability, and technical documentation.\nManage technical debt, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to long-term platform stability and scalability.\nPartner with other Engineering Managers on cross-team engineering initiatives and shared platform standards.\nMentor and support engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.\nExperience developing APIs and distributed applications using modern backend technologies and service-oriented architectures.\nStrong experience with Python and modern backend development frameworks.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), event-driven architectures, and scalable web applications.\nExperience leading Agile software development teams and collaborating cross-functionally with Product and Data teams.\nExperience with mapping and geospatial technologies such as Mapbox preferred.\nReal estate, financial services, or related industry experience preferred.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\n\nStrong understanding of modern software engineering principles, application architecture, and web development fundamentals.\nDeep understanding of software testing practices across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.\nStrong technical problem-solving and system design skills.\nAbility to balance hands-on technical contributions with team leadership responsibilities.\nStrong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.\nExperience leveraging AI-enabled development tools to support engineering workflows, documentation, and testing preferred.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes\nCourtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders\n\nThis position has an estimated base salary of 170k-190k plus a discretionary bonus.
