The Receiver maintains a clean, organized backroom, supports overall store operations, and works collaboratively with the store team to ensure efficient merchandise flow and an exceptional customer experience.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nSupport the “Cavender’s Culture” and support the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.\nAccurately receive, process, and stock merchandise, including purchase orders, transfers, special orders, and returns, ensuring merchandise matches documentation and discrepancies are reported promptly.\nInspect merchandise for quality, accuracy, proper tagging, boot pairing, and label placement.\nMaintain inventory accuracy by organizing back stock, processing paperwork, and ensuring merchandise is stored according to company standards.\nOperate and maintain receiving equipment, including barcode printers and handheld devices, to support daily receiving operations.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom while assisting with overall store cleanliness, including routine housekeeping tasks as needed.\nCollaborate with store leadership and team members to support inventory management, merchandise flow, and operational goals.\nTrain and provide guidance to stockers on receiving processes, merchandise handling, and backroom organization.\nRemain attentive to store safety and security and promptly report receiving, shipping, inventory, or system concerns to store management.\nReport to work on time and maintain a neat, professional appearance.\nUnderstand and follow all company policies and procedures.\nAssist with merchandising, inventory projects, and other assigned store tasks.\nAny other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications and Requirements\n\nAbility to accurately receive, inspect, and process merchandise in a fast-paced retail environment.\nAbility to regularly lift, move, and position merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the work shift.\nAbility to safely use store equipment, including handheld devices, barcode printers, step stools, and dollies, in accordance with company policies. Certain equipment may only be operated by associates who meet applicable age requirements.\nAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business.\nAbility to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and apply them to daily tasks.\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAssociate must be able to read and understand English.\nAssociate must be able to stay alert and productive during assigned work hours.\n\nCavender’s is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
