Electrical Engineer

Power and Control System Design andImplementation Prepare specifications for design, acquisition, andmaintenance of electrical components and systems. Design and modifywiring diagrams/schematics and control panel layout drawings. Analyzefacility power distribution and protection systems (including switchgearand busway) and facilitate additions thereto. Write and install programsto control a variety of equipment including Programmable LogicControllers, Human-Machine Interfaces, Variable Frequency Drives,robots, and servos. Lead the electrical integration of new equipment orprocesses. Evaluate existing equipment and systems and makerecommendations for performance, reliability, safety, and diagnosticimprovements. Strengthen equipment reliability by designing andimplementing modern and safe updates to obsolete controls and systems.Understand and enforce applicable electrical, controls, and safety codesand regulations. Support and Troubleshooting Work with and provideguidance to in-house electricians, maintenance personnel, machineoperators, and occasionally IT personnel to implement, diagnose, andrepair plant manufacturing and support equipment including conveyance,presses, CNCs, boilers, air compressors, HVAC equipment, and otherspecialized equipment. Work with a variety of software and hardware tomonitor \"online\" status of control systems for data analysis ortroubleshooting purposes. Employ the use of a multimeter or otherelectrical tools to analyze, test, and troubleshoot equipment. Developdiagnostic procedures for troubleshooting equipment. Provide occasionalevening or weekend troubleshooting support when urgent or necessary.Project Management and Collaboration Collect quotations, develop projectbudgets and timelines, and write purchase requisitions for materials andequipment. Coordinate with outside contractors and internal productionpersonnel to safely and efficiently complete installation andmaintenance work. Work with production, quality, and engineering oncontinuous improvement and \"6S\" projects. Update, review and developoperating procedures when applicable. Promote safety, good housekeeping,and emergency response procedures. Foster a positive and professionalworking environment for all employees. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions,and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, andcorrespondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers,Vendors And Other Employees Of The Organization. Mathematical SkillsRequires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract,multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions. TechnicalSkills Ability to analyze and interpret statistical, quality andproduction data. Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings andspecifications. Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to read andunderstand electrical schematics, electrical code manuals, ladder-logicprograms, and other manufacturing instructions.
