We support the AFCENT Commander, USCENTCOM, coalition and joint partners, and warfighters who rely on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, partner networks, and other command-and-control systems. For additional information on SMS, visit www.sms.com.\n\nSubmit your resume today!\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nProvide 24/7 WAN Transport Operations Support.\n\nTroubleshoot and develop solutions with LAN/WAN protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP).\n\nConfigure, monitor and trouble-shoot IP/MPLS backbone network.\n\nAssist with the installation and configuration of existing and new WAN transport systems as directed.\n\nDevelop standardized testing and cutover plans for AFCENT WAN new equipment.\n\nEstablish testing and remote monitoring procedures to ensure reliable operation of WAN transport in theater.\n\nCollect networking metrics for analysis to determine sub-standard network performance both remotely and locally.\n\nAnalyze a myriad of networking metrics and recognize sub-par network performance.\n\nConfiguring and troubleshooting QOS involving policing, shaping and queuing.\n\nReport system and network documented finds for analysis and trending of bandwidth and network security incidents.\n\nProvide first-level technical support to AFCENT users, escalates complex problems as required.\n\nAct as a consultant and provide feedback to the government to optimize the WAN transport networks.\n\nIdentify and evaluate the operational impact of all outages.\n\nCoordinate with external agencies for outage resolution as required by local policy.\n\nPerform notifications when outages occur IAW local policies, notification matrix, and any other SOPs, policy, and instructions.\n\nSupport creation of daily AFCENT communication status report as required.\n\nProvide General Networking support.\n\nProvide LAN support.\n\nProvide WAN Enterprise support.\n\nProvide technical and general O&M support as required.\n\nProvide documentation/reports support as required.\n\nProvide meetings/briefings support as required.\n\nProvide functional training support as required.\n\nProvide OCONUS deployment/TDY travel support as required.\n\nProvide CONUS TDY support as required.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n3 or more years’ relevant experience.\n\nFirewall experience.\n\nLAN and WAN Enterprise support experience.\n\nMust possess experience and demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft server installation, roles, active directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.\n\nCertifications Required\n\nCCNA\n\nITIL Foundation (candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification)\n\nClearance Required\n\nDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance\n\nSMS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
