This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all IT infrastructure systems - networks, servers, storage. The System Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems for the business. This role also includes directing vendor partners to manage systems appropriately.\nESSENTIAL AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES\nStrategy & Planning\nCollaborate to ensure smooth and reliable operation of systems to business objectives and processes.\nWork with team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.\nAcquisition & Deployment\nDesign and deploy new servers, networking, and storage to support new or upgraded applications, software, and operating systems.\nConduct research on system products to make recommendations and to support justification for purchasing.\nInteract and partner with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to obtain system-related products and services.\nPerform cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes and systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.\nOperational Management\nRecommend, schedule, and perform server maintenance and upgrades.\nAssist in the development, maintenance, and administration of servers, server templates, monitoring, and security practices.\nProvide oversight and direction for managed service providers.\nCollaborate with helpdesk, operations and support, and business systems analysts to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.\nAssist with evaluating and transitioning existing on-premises systems for migration to the Cloud.\nGauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.\nCreate system design models, specifications, and diagrams to provide reference for IT engineers and development teams.\nDesign and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.\nEnsure system connectivity and operation of all servers, network and storage infrastructure, and business applications.\nCreate and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records.\nEnsure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.\nCoordinate and perform in-depth tests, as needed, for modified or new systems.\nMonitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports when necessary.\nProvide orientation and training to end users of systems, as necessary.\nKnowledge & Experience\nProven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Windows Servers and related infrastructure products, both on-premises and cloud provider.\nProven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.\nExcellent systems troubleshooting experience.\nWorking technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure and servers.\nWorking knowledge of on-premises networking and systems.\nCompetence with testing and troubleshooting business systems and infrastructure.\nKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.\nREQUIRED COMPETENCIES & SKILLS\nInclusivity & Core Values. VMWare and Azure preferred.\nExperience in developing and implementing cloud solutions.\nKnowledge and experience supporting enterprise level business applications.\nExperience with networking and networking concepts is a plus.\nWorking knowledge of data security practices and requirements.\nExperience with Agile project methodology.
