The position is hands-on software development in a fast-paced, mission-focused, agile environment.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Software Engineer on the Enterprise Collaboration team, you are accountable for:\nSoftware Development and Integration\nDesign, develop, and maintain plug-ins, extensions, and integrations for enterprise collaboration tools (e.g., Mattermost) used by supported teams.\nDevelop web application front-ends and supporting services, and integrate collaboration platforms with internal and third-party systems through their APIs, webhooks, and extension frameworks.\nWrite well-structured, documented, and testable code, and participate in code reviews to uphold quality and maintainability.\nInvestigate and resolve technical issues across the collaboration tooling and its integrations.\nCollaboration and Delivery\nWork directly with supported teams to understand their workflows and translate needs into practical collaboration capabilities.\nDeploy updates and fixes through established CI/CD pipelines, and provide technical support to users and fellow engineers.\nContribute to a collaborative, security-first engineering culture, sharing methods and lessons learned across programs.\nMinimum Requirements\nUS Citizenship required\nSecurity: Active DoD Secret clearance required to start\nEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 5 or more years of technical experience; additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.\nTechnical Experience:\nWeb application development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript).\nAPI development and implementation.\nObject-oriented programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C#).\nDatabase development (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).\nDeveloping within an Agile SDLC environment (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or Scaled Agile Framework).\nGitOps and version control with Git.\nCI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).\nCommunication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, with initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly, and excellent spoken and written English.\nPreferred Qualifications\nEducation: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.\nExperience developing Mattermost plug-ins or integrations, or plug-in/extension development for a comparable enterprise collaboration platform (e.g., Slack, Teams).\nExperience with Platform One or other DoD software factories.\nApplication deployment in Docker containers.\nAmazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as VPC, EC2, S3, and Lambda.\nContainer orchestration with Kubernetes; Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent a plus.\nIdentity and Access Management tools (e.g., Keycloak, Appgate, Okta).\nOne or more scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).\nUnderstanding of AI/ML concepts; prior implementation of an AI/ML feature a plus.\nWorking Relationships\nReports to: Colorado Springs Site Leadership (Program/Team Lead).\nCollaborates with: Program software engineers, team leads, and cross-program engineering staff.\nCustomer Interface: Supported teams and program customer technical leadership, as delegated.\nSchedule and Environment\nRemote position; proximity to Omitron's Colorado Springs, CO office is preferred, with on-site or hybrid presence as required for program success.\nWork is accomplished primarily Monday through Friday during standard business hours; due to the fast-paced, agile delivery environment, work may occasionally be required outside those times.\nAbout Omitron\nOmitron is an Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology small business headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland, with a regional office in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and personnel at operational sites nationwide.
