This includes configuring and integrating AI capabilities, developing and deploying AI models where needed, and ensuring these solutions are maintainable, secure, and aligned with organizational standards.\n\nBeyond the technical responsibilities, the AIApplication Engineer will also act as an AI ambassador , guiding the organization in understanding the potential of AI, supporting responsible adoption, and ensuring business teams make effective use of AI functionality. They will work closely with functional and technical application engineers, process owners, and the data team to evaluate use cases, run pilots, and turn promising ideas into operational solutions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAI Strategy & Enablement\n\nServe as the central point of contact for AI applications within Enterprise Systems.\n\nAdvocate for responsible and effective AI adoption across the organization.\n\nTranslate business needs into AI-driven workflow opportunities and identify integrations with existing systems.\n\nBuild and prioritize our AI roadmap across different applications and business processes.\n\nIdentify and set up AI-related initiatives in our enterprise architecture and SDLC.\n\nSupport the evaluation, piloting, & adoption of AI-driven (development) tools in alignment with engineering best practices and security policies.\n\nAI Project Coordination\n\nCoordinate AI-related initiatives, from initial opportunity assessment to implementation.\n\nWork with application owners to ensure AI features are properly configured, governed, and maintained.\n\nAlign with the data team on data readiness, data flows, and opportunities involving analytics or machine learning.\n\nManage cross-functional AI pilots and ensure scalable handovers into production where relevant.\n\nCollaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI into the SDLC, ensuring smooth use of AI for coding, testing, documentation, requirements analysis, and deployment workflows.\n\nOperational Support & Governance\n\nProvide second-line support for AI features embedded in enterprise applications.\n\nEnsure system-level AI features follow internal guidelines for compliance, privacy, and security.\n\nMonitor and evaluate AI performance, quality, and usage metrics.\n\nMaintain documentation and contribute to AI governance best practices.\n\nMonitor and optimize tool performance, licensing, usage patterns, and integration into business & development workflows.\n\nStakeholder Engagement\n\nCollaborate with process owners, stakeholders and centers of excellence (e.g. service delivery, software engineering,…) to identify AI-based workflow optimizations.\n\nTrain and inform business users about AI capabilities, limitations, and changes.\n\nPromote a culture of safe and effective AI usage that optimizes workflows and reduces repetitive, time-intensive work.\n\nYour Interests and Skills\nMust-Have\n\nStrong understanding of AI concepts and practical applications (e.g. generative AI, predictive models, automation).\n\nExperience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS) and modern AI tooling (e.g. Microsoft Copilot ecosystem, ChatGPT and Claude).\n\nExperience working with enterprise systems, functional/technical application management, or data-driven solutions.\n\nAbility to translate business needs into technical AI requirements and vice versa.\n\nAbility to separate short-lived hype from durable, meaningful innovation.\n\nExperience with innovation funnel type of approaches (where a lot of pilots are started, continues evaluation and moving potential cases into production with a documented business case).\n\nProject coordination experience, preferably in cross-functional environments.\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to guide non-technical stakeholders.\n\nNice-to-Have\n\nFamiliarity with data warehousing, business intelligence, or data engineering concepts.\n\nExperience with AI governance frameworks or responsible AI principles.\n\nUnderstanding integration patterns, APIs, or system architectures.\n\nHands-on experimentation or prototyping with AI tools.\n\nExperience with Atlassian tooling, Workato, NetSuite, Salesforce, etc.\n\nExperience with development tools, CI/CD pipelines, or AI-enabled engineering platforms OR a strong willingness to develop expertise in this area.\n\nWhat we offer you\n\nCompetitive salary package.\n\nCompany car with fuel card.\n\nMeal vouchers.\n\nGroup and hospitalization insurance.\n\nAdditional benefits: bike leasing, flexible working hours and hybrid way of working.\n\nA key role in shaping the future of AI within our organization.\n\nThe opportunity to collaborate with experts across IT, data and business domains.\n\nA modern and innovative environment where AI initiatives are welcomed and supported.\n\nRoom for professional growth in both technical and strategic areas of AI.\n\nJoin an international, multicultural company with more than 35 years of experience, which doubles in size every 5 years.
