This role provides hands-on leadership by coordinating production activities, coaching team members, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to drive first-time quality and on-time delivery.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nThe following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.\nMore specifically, the Quality Assembly Supervisor will:\nLead and promote a culture of safety by proactively identifying hazards, coaching safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nSupervise daily assembly operations to achieve production schedules while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.\nCoordinate daily production priorities with Team Leads, Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.\nConduct daily startup meetings to communicate production goals, work assignments, safety topics, quality concerns, and operational updates.\nMonitor workflow throughout the shift and adjust staffing or priorities to meet production demands.\nPerform and oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished equipment to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.\nEvaluate the quality of work performed by team members and provide coaching to ensure consistent workmanship and adherence to company standards.\nEnsure nonconforming materials and products are properly identified, documented, segregated, and processed according to established procedures.\nInvestigate quality concerns, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.\nInterpret engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and GD&T requirements to support production and inspection activities.\nUtilize precision measuring equipment including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection instruments to verify product conformance.\nEnsure inspection results, nonconformances, production documentation, and quality records are accurately maintained within ERP and Quality Management Systems.\nInitiate and support Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nConduct or oversee first article inspections and validation of new or revised products, processes, and engineering changes.\nSupport supplier quality activities by reviewing incoming materials, documenting supplier issues, and coordinating corrective actions when required.\nMaintain calibration status of inspection equipment and ensure measurement tools remain accurate and compliant with established procedures.\nServe as the primary resource for assembly personnel regarding engineering questions, parts issues, work instructions, and quality concerns.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve production and quality issues quickly and effectively.\nMonitor production, quality, and labor performance metrics while identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.\nTrain, mentor, and develop employees on assembly processes, quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement principles.\nProvide input into employee performance evaluations and participate in coaching, disciplinary actions, and employee development planning.\nEnsure work instructions, engineering drawings, routings, work orders, and production documentation remain current and properly maintained.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S principles.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nPosition Hours: This position requires reporting 15 minutes prior to the start of the assigned shift and remaining through the end of the shift or additional hours as business needs require.\nEducation, Experience, and Computer Skills\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary technical education is preferred.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing or assembly experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role required.\nWorking knowledge of assembly processes, manufacturing quality systems, and production operations.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.\nStrong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications and production systems, including the use of tablets and ERP software.\nEquipment\nRegularly operates or utilizes:\nOverhead cranes and hoists\nForklifts (sit-down, stand-up, pallet jacks, and industrial carts)\nPower tools including drills, jig saws, hydraulic hose crimpers, hole saws, magnetic drills, pneumatic impacts, and ratchets\nHand tools including torque wrenches, measuring devices, tape measures, and standard mechanic's tools\nComputers, tablets, barcode scanners, and other production technology\nKey Competencies\nLeadership and Team Development\nSafety Leadership\nQuality Assurance\nProduction Planning and Execution\nContinuous Improvement\nRoot Cause Problem Solving\nCross-functional Collaboration\nCommunication and Accountability\nCustomer Focus\nOrganizational and Time Management QUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual should be dependable, organized, and able to perform routine accounting tasks with accuracy.
