DescriptionAlbertus Magnus CollegePosition Title: Graduate Assistant Coach, Swimming and DivingReporting To: Head Swimming and Diving Coach and Athletic DirectorHours per week: 20/25 hours a week Stipend/Benefits: Tuition waived up to 24 credits & a $1000 stipend for the academic yearRole SummaryThe Graduate Assistant will provide coaching and administrative support to the Swimming & Diving Program. This role is designed to provide the student with professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the operational goals of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance their academic workload and assist with coaching, recruiting, and other administrative duties assigned by the head coach or Athletic DirectorQualificationsHousing, Work Hours & DutiesAthletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package.GAs who chooses to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life.GAs who does not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork under the direction of the head coach for swimming and diving program.Assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletic program, including but not limited to:coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, film breakdown, counseling, and other duties.Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in aprofessional, responsible, and positive manner.Follow all NCAA, GNAC, and Athletics Department guidelines.Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and to assist with the promotion of anenvironment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College.Duties included but not limited to: assisting with the department's Study Hall program, driving campusvans for road contests and providing support with home event management.Eligibility & Requirements Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master's program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:Accounting (only two spots available) Business AdministrationCriminal JusticeManagement and Organizational LeadershipHealthcare Administration (only two spots available)Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace].Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach.Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules.
