This is an ideal role for someone early in their engineering career who wants exposure to modern web development, scalable SaaS architecture, and cross-functional teamwork in a supportive environment.\r\nYou will work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and QA to build and enhance front-end features, fix bugs, maintain code quality, and grow your technical skill set.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nAssist in developing and maintaining front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.\r\nImplement UI changes based on provided design mockups and guidance from senior engineers.\r\nTranslate prototypes into well-structured, maintainable code with support from the team.\r\nContribute to enhancements and bug fixes across Arena's Web and Application layers.\r\nWrite simple unit tests and help improve test coverage under mentorship.\r\nParticipate in requirement discussions, code reviews, and team design sessions as a learning opportunity.\r\nDocument code changes and implementation details clearly.\r\nSupport troubleshooting and debugging activities with guidance from more senior team members.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nUS Citizenship is required due to FedRAMP/ITAR needs.\r\nAbility to commute to the San Mateo office 2-3 days a week.\r\n0-2 years of experience developing web applications (internship, co-op, academic, or project experience welcomed).\r\nFoundational understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and general web development principles.\r\nBasic experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React preferred; Angular/Vue familiarity a plus).\r\nUnderstanding of responsive design and browser compatibility fundamentals.\r\nSome exposure to object-oriented programming (Java preferred) through coursework or practical projects.\r\nFamiliarity with relational databases and SQL concepts.\r\nClear verbal and written communication skills.\r\nCuriosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.\r\nPreferred (Nice to Have)\r\nExperience with source control tools such as Git.\r\nExposure to SaaS applications or cloud environments.\r\nExperience writing unit tests or conducting basic QA.\r\nPersonal/portfolio projects demonstrating UI development or JavaScript framework usage.\r\nWhat Success Looks Like in the First 6-12 Months\r\nDemonstrates steady growth in contributing production-ready front-end code.\r\nGains confidence in Arena's architecture and codebase.\r\nReliably completes assigned tasks and bug fixes with increasing autonomy.\r\nParticipates actively in code reviews and team discussions.\r\nBuilds strong working relationships across engineering, QA, and product.\r\nCompensation (CIP)\r\nPTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $85,000 - 100,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
