{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ecccd3d6584035a765e51a3d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ecccd3d6584035a765e51a3d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ecccd3d6584035a765e51a3d","title":"Material Handler","description":"Overview:\n\nTHE ROLE\n\nAt Great Dane, we rely on makers and we’re calling on them to join our expanding team, the time has never been better to Embrace Your Great and work in an environment with the highest safety standards in the industry.\n\nThe Position: The Material Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.\nResponsibilities:\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nReceives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.\nPrepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.\nReviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.\nConfirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.\nTransports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).\nOptimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.\nSecuring loads to machine before transportation.\nWhen problems arise, resolves issues with contractors or vendors.\nManages inventory by utilizing RFGen scanning equipment.\nIdentifies and reporting workplace safety hazards.\nMaintains cleanliness of assigned area and surrounding areas.\nWorks closely with leaders and other employees in a team environment.\nMust obtain valid fork truck license and certification within first 30 days of employment.\nCollects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.\nFollows all Great Dane safety requirements when transporting loads and otherwise.\nEnsures fork truck safety inspection sheet is completed daily.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications:\nYOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)\nEmployee must be able to accurately read a tape measure.\nEmployee must be able to remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.\nEmployee must be able to perform the physical requirements listed in that section of this job description.\nEmployee must look for potential cost savings in the work process, help keep scrap and waste to a minimum and be efficient in use of all supplies.\nThe employee must perform the assigned tasks in a way they meet or exceed the required production level.\n1-2 years of previous fork truck experience preferred.\n1-2 years of previous experience working with a scan gun preferred.\nAbility to work with hands.\nAptitude to learn and retain new information.\nAbility to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing.\nAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.\nAbility to communicate effectively in English.\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nGood math skills.\nEfficient time management skills.\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nOffice and plant environment.\nKeyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nAbility to stand and move about on concrete 8-10 hours a day.
