Job SummaryThis leadership role drives fully integrated, consumer-led marketing plans aligned to Retail business objectives and growth priorities. The Marketing Manager partners closely with Merchandising leadership to translate business strategy into clear, actionable marketing plans that deliver measurable consumer impact and financial performance.The role will also drive market competitiveness and operational excellence through rigorous performance analysis, process improvement, and strong agency and vendor management, while building and leading a high-performing team through effective coaching, development, and resource planning.Job ResponsibilitiesLeads social media research within Walgreens to align with business strategy.Defines and implements the social listening and intelligence strategy in support of Walgreens initiatives and priorities.Leverages social media listening tools to create timely research and reporting on consumer insights, marketplace trends, competitive analysis, product insights and emerging consumer tensions.Combines findings with other digital data sources, identify strategic recommendations and creates persuasive presentationsDelivers findings to key stakeholders through engaging and digestible presentations and reportsOversees the development and upkeep of social listening queries and reporting of evergreen macro topics related to the overall business (i.e. health and wellness, COVID-19, Immunizations, etc.)Oversees the development and project management of ad hoc listening reportsMaintains day-to-day relationship with social media listening platform vendorsGrows the social intelligence capability by identifying, training and empowering a team of social listening expertsPartners with brand managers and other stakeholders to understand business and campaign objectives and fulfill social listening requestsTailors key findings and takeaways to the Walgreens brand and supports implementation strategies stemming from researchWorks cross-functionally to create and institutionalize a process for leveraging social intelligence, to generate innovative consumer research and provide strategic recommendationsTranslates data and insights across multiple data sources that resonate with key stakeholdersWorks with social intelligence team members to improve dashboards and reporting capabilitiesDelivers trends analysis through collaboration with social media marketing partnersHarnesses social data from listening in collaboration with reporting insights, and other sources, to contentServes as the point of contact for Walgreen’s social intelligence capability, including managing internal and external relationships, participating on councils, and helping other business areas leverage social listening to drive business.About WalgreensFounded in 1901, Walgreens (www.walgreens.com) proudly serves nearly 9 million customers and patients each day across its approximately 8,500 stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Walgreens has approximately 220,000 team members, including nearly 90,000 healthcare service providers, and is committed to being the first choice for pharmacy, retail and health services, building trusted relationships that create healthier futures for customers, patients, team members and communitiesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in marketing or high school/GED and at least 5 years of experience in marketing.Experience with social media listening platforms including but not limited to Sprinklr or SproutExperience crafting engaging presentations and communicating complex analysis, recommendations, and solutions.Experience managing multiple workstreams and contending priorities, analyzing data, and recognizing patterns to advise brand actions.Experience translating social media data into insightful non-technical storiesExperience with applying project management and organizational skills with outstanding attention to detailExperience with data sets, structures, and systems that enable advanced social and digital analytics.At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.Willing to travel at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marketing and at least 5 years of experience in strategic marketing or product marketing preferably in health and wellness industryExperience establishing metrics and measurement plans to pinpoint effectiveness of marketing strategies, testing plan, and optimization plans for effective marketingStrong interpersonal and communication skills delivering clean concise insights that drive emotional intelligence and storytelling behaviorsExperience leveraging customer insights, brand guidelines and media reporting to evaluate marketing strategy and plansExperience in building strategies driven around customer best next action rooted in audience targeting, creative, data triggers and measurementSupports consumer engagement along the path to purchase while collaborating with internal and external partners as additional capabilities are neededEnsures the quality of work, products services and messaging; complies or exceeds all regulatory compliance standards and ensures accuracy of communication as it relates to promotional materials.We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.The Salary below is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.
