Receive and follow directions from the Operator and/or Supervisor. Assist die corrector in trouble shooting die issues.\nEXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all the duties assigned)\n1. Performs basic operations on Bridgeport mill to make repairs on aluminum extrusion dies.\n2. Understands the use of die bearing squares.\n3. Reads and interprets blueprints and AEC tolerancing.\n4. Takes direction from Die Manager/supervisor to perform task assigned.\n5. Assist in maintaining all die records.\n6. Polishes dies and has them ready for set-up following established schedule.\n7. Ensures that all tooling is maintained properly.\n8. Works within the guidelines of the quality program.\n9. Assists in daily operation of caustic area. Maintains schedule, adding and removing of extrusion dies. Maintains safe work practice while using Caustic.\n10. Considers safety on each job and abides by all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.\n11. Performs related work as required.\n12. Assist with working, correction, and assembly of dies as needed.\n13. Assure quality of workmanship.\n14. Clean shop as needed. Insures good housekeeping in work area.\n15. Help with cleaning and maintaining the Dies before and after they go to press.\n16. Trained in general machine work.\n17. Assist in the daily activities of implementing process changes and problem solving in die shop.\n18. Reports problems or accidents to management immediately.\nPERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes. Ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits. Outstanding safety record and approach to behavioral based safety using proper PPE are requirements. Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other die correct, supervisors, managers, and other production personnel. Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance. Excellent communication skills. Thrive in a cross-functional team environment. Work with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines. Ability to communicate using all forms of written, verbal, and electronic communication tools. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to read blueprints highly desirable.\nEducation: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent from Technical School, and 6 months related experience preferred.
