Electro-Mechanical Test Technician

Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Test Technician Location: San Francisco, CA Type: Contract (3–6 months, potential for extension) Pay Rate: $45/hour (W2) Position Overview We are looking for a highly hands-on Electro-Mechanical Test Technician to support the testing, bring-up, and manufacturing readiness of advanced electro-mechanical and optical systems. This role focuses heavily on PCB-level testing, troubleshooting, repair, and soldering, and supports both R&D development and production builds. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with hardware, diagnosing electrical issues, and supporting fast-paced product development. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical bring-up, verification, and troubleshooting of PCB assemblies and integrated electro-mechanical systems Conduct PCB-level testing including continuity checks, functional validation, fault isolation, and schematic-based verification Execute soldering and rework on electronic assemblies, including component replacement and hand soldering Diagnose and resolve electrical failures using lab equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and bench power supplies Support early-stage hardware development, prototype builds, and new product introduction activities Partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve electrical issues and improve test processes Assist with assembly and testing of precision systems in cleanroom or controlled environments as required Record test results, failure analysis, and corrective actions to support production readiness and quality goals Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures during all testing and rework activities Required Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, hardware support, or manufacturing environments Strong background in PCB testing, board-level troubleshooting, and power-up activities Demonstrated soldering and rework skills on electronic assemblies Experience supporting electro-mechanical systems in R&D and/or production settings Proficiency with common electrical test and diagnostic equipment Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test documentation Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and systematic troubleshooting approach Preferred Experience Exposure to both prototype development and volume manufacturing Experience supporting NPI or early design validation efforts Familiarity with optical or precision hardware systems Job Types: Contract, Temporary Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: In person
