Performs transportation, drainage, and land development engineering projects.\n\n*EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED*\n\n* Performs planning, engineering analysis and design for transportation, drainage, and land development projects\n* Prepares transportation engineering plans, specifications & estimates (PS&E)\n* Analyzes and prepares floodplain and detention studies\n* Prepares technical correspondence to professional consultants, other governmental entities, and the public\n* Reviews Floodplain Development Permits, including interpreting flood studies and determining site-specific flood elevations\n* Responds to drainage/floodplain complaints and coordinates with public to develop feasible solutions utilizing site visits, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and investigations\n* Coordinates and prepares documents and updates for engineering meetings and public hearings\n* Analyzes subdivision plats, construction plans and permits\n* Performs pavement field evaluations\n* Identifies potential floodplain violations and collaborates with inspections on resolution\n* Attends all meetings and trainings, as required\n* Performs special duties as assigned\n\n*ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS*\n\n· Reports directly to – An Assigned Supervising Engineer or Senior Engineer\n\n· Direct Reports: No\n\n*PHYSICAL DEMANDS*\n\n· Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting and operating equipment\n\n· Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle\n\n*ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS*\n\n· Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather\n\n· Regular travel between work sites\n\n· Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, bacteria, fungus and high noise levels\n\n_The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job. (Professional Engineer) Licensure\n\n*Required within thirty (30) days of employment*\n\n· Valid Texas driver’s license\n\n*Required within six (6) months of employment*\n\n· Texas P.E.
