Unclaimed Property Analyst

Michigan Unclaimed Property is the custodian of unclaimed (abandoned) property for the State of Michigan and works to reunite that property with its rightful owner or the owners’ heirs, upon proof of ownership. This position supports the Unclaimed Property team by training staff in all areas of the unclaimed property process, as well as performing regular testing of application updates. This position is responsible for the quality assurance and customer service of UP phone staff to ensure calls are handled with professionalism and accuracy. The ability to create exceptional customer service experiences and mentor staff to do the same is essential. A significant amount of time is dedicated to the collection and analysis of data that supports claims processing and outreach initiatives; to include metrics on resource utilization as well as program assessment and evaluation. The perfect candidate will be successful in multi-tasking, setting priorities, training staff, conducting quality control reviews and developing reports based upon research results. Familiarity with Michigan’s Uniform Unclaimed Property Act is a plus. This position also requires excellent organizational and analytical skills, as these skills are essential to contributing to team success.
