We are looking for a Production Supervisor in our Ladysmith, WI location who will provide immediate management on 3rd shift to a team of 15-20 employees.\n\nYou will manage our Molding department and will report to the production manager.\n\nSchedule:\nThis is a SUN-THUR night shift from 11pm-7am\n\nPosition Summary:\nYou will direct the development of production goals in safety, quality, customer delivery, and financial improvement. Developing capacity plans and output forecasts based on complex customer demand trends and variable labor content per production order is critical to the role. Developing resource planning in a high product mix, and customized manufacturing process while selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production team is required.\n\nThis work consists of planning and administering operating practices that foster employee engagement in a continuous improvement-driven work environment.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nManage 15-20 employees across multiple work shifts.\n\nSupport safe work practices.\n\nParticipation in and support for Molding's High-Performance Team\n\nSelect and hire employees and provide ongoing performance monitoring.\n\nEstablish and implement employee development programs and schedules.\n\nPerform resource planning requirements and scheduling of work hours and time off requests.\n\nReceive predetermined assignments subject to a moderate level of control and review.\n\nCommunicate daily production requirements and set targets based on capacity.\n\nPlan and coordinate production order transitions between shifts and between manufacturing departments.\n\nCommunicate production order status and results at frequent intervals.\n\nAccountable for safety, quality, customer delivery, and productivity improvement goals.\n\nLead continuous improvement projects, i.e. Kaizen events.\n\nUnderstand and maintain complex manufacturing order management systems.\n\nLeadership:\n\nFacilitate manufacturing teams toward the achievement of business and customer goals.\n\nTrain teams in the philosophy of continuous improvement and waste reduction concepts.\n\nFoster an environment that instills pride by all employees.\n\nEvaluate employee performance on a basis and provide performance feedback.\n\nDevelop a motivated employee base through recognition linked to accomplishments.\n\nProvide leadership in the support of best practices and compliance to procedures and specifications.\n\nInterpersonal:\n\nSupport engagement and teamwork through of goals.\n\nFoster collaborative effort that promotes engagement.\n\nMaintain a culture of mutual respect and integrity at all levels.\n\nWork with internal support staff in communicating and resolving production issues.\n\nPresent operational metrics during regular order status reviews.\n\nBusiness:\n\nCalculate labor efficiency, use, and productivity.\n\nAnalyze manufacturing labor times for variance and overall reduction opportunities.\n\nAnalyze daily backlogs and calculate required capacity to manage order lead times.\n\nDevelop resource plans based upon individual work cell order demand rates.\n\nUnderstand operating budgetary controls.\n\nUse tools as part of Lean Six Sigma based continuous improvement philosophy.\n\nApply procedures in compliance with government laws.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree OR equivalent professional experience.\n\nLegal authorization to work in the US is required.
