This hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful litigation responsibility, hands-on trial experience, and long-term career growth within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with experienced shareholders representing healthcare providers, hospitals, insurers, and other clients in medical malpractice and personal injury defense matters. This position is designed for a lawyer who is interested in developing into a leadership role, with a path toward shareholder consideration over time.\nResponsibilities\nManage all phases of litigation under attorney supervision and increasing levels of independence.\nConduct and defend depositions.\nWork with expert witnesses and consultants.\nDraft motions, pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda.\nAttend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.\nParticipate in trial preparation and serve in a second-chair trial capacity.\nDevelop client relationships and contribute to strategic case planning.\nHandle day-to-day litigation responsibilities for sophisticated institutional clients.\nQualifications\nActive membership in the California State Bar in good standing.\nPreferred experience level: 2-5 years of litigation experience.\nMedical malpractice defense and/or personal injury defense experience is preferred.\nStrong legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.\nAbility to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a team environment.\nDemonstrated commitment to client service and professional development.\nCompensation\nAnnual Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000\nThe salary range listed above is a good-faith estimate of the compensation Cooper & Scully, P.C. reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of hire.
