Lead team members through root cause and equipment failure analyses. Identify and execute corrective actions, temporary solutions, and permanent solutions\r\nDrive innovations in process and work system improvements\r\nCommunicate shift results daily in verbal and written formats\r\nTrain employees on all aspects of safety (OSHA required training, etc.)\r\nDevelop skill acquisition and assessment plans for line lead mechanics\r\nCoordinate with maintenance teams to enable execution of Preventive Maintenance.\r\nLead team development initiatives to ensure continuous improvement around our key business metrics (safety, quality, reliability and cost)\r\nEnsure implementation of 5S in all areas of BARS\r\nOther duties as assigned by management\r\nEducation Requirements:\r\nBachelor's of Science Degree in a technical field of study (or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience\r\nMinimum Work Requirements:\r\nMeet the legal minimum age requirement\r\nAuthorized to work in the United States\r\n3+ years of production/maintenance supervisory/management experience overseeing 5 or more production/maintenance individuals in a manufacturing environment.\r\nWorking knowledge of the basics of mechanical systems and electrical systems.\r\nIntermediate knowledge of high speed equipment timing, filling equipment, multi-packers, and case packers\r\nShift flexibility to accommodate the needs of the business\r\nRelevant experience in team development and training\r\nRespond to urgent or emergency situations outside of normal working hours as needed.\r\nAbility to work overtime as needed\r\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\r\nStrong planning and organizing skills\r\nStrong organizational and interpersonal skills\r\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\r\nAbility to facilitate teams in problem solving and troubleshooting efforts from routine equipment failure.\r\nIntermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)\r\nWorking knowledge of the principles of 5s\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\nAdvanced knowledge of high speed equipment timing, filling equipment, multi-packers, and case packers\r\nIntermediate technical skills in general machining processes (material selection, fabrication) and scale systems\r\nExperience in facilitation and team building\r\nExperience working in a union labor environment\r\nPhysical Requirements:\r\nEmployee must be able to work in a manufacturing plant environment\r\nDaily responsibilities may require working on elevated surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lift up to 50 pounds, crawling under equipment, wearing fall protection and required PPE\r\nStanding/walking for extended periods of time\r\nSitting for periods of time working in front of a computer screen.\r\nAt VVF, our people are what make the difference.
