Scheels Company Goals:We strive to be the best retailer in the USA in the eyes and minds of our customers, associates, and business partners.Overview:The internship position will assist with analyzing trends, purchasing products, and developing and organizing training products/upcoming trends for each of their assigned shops. This position will work closely with the Scheels Corporate Buyers and store teams to provide the best product selection within our stores.Responsibilities:Learn a variety of tasks related to the Buyer position such as:Analyze sales and pricing data to ensure Scheels makes a profit on the merchandise purchasedEvaluate sales reports to determine which items are selling, analyze inventory records to place orders as necessaryRegularly connect with vendors within the assigned shops to learn more about the latest trends and available merchandiseDetermine what products will be in demand for upcoming seasonsExecute project work plans to complete the task on time with appropriate revisions to meet changing needs and requirementsStrong initiative and vision for continuous improvementDetail oriented, organized, ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of accuracyStrong oral/written communication and computer skillsCompetent in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically ExcelRequirements:Customer ServiceGenuinely and consistently treat co-workers, customers and business partners like they are the most important person including eye contact, a smile and a genuine "Thank you"CultureApproach daily tasks, projects and follow-up communication with energy and sense of urgencyCultivate a deep desire to become a knowledge expert in their role with the ability to apply their knowledge and experience with great impact.Show respect and appreciation for others and ScheelsArrive to work and meetings 10 minutes earlyTeam MentalityGenuine interest and action in helping others before yourself, regardless of recognition or rewardTeach-abilityConsistent eagerness to listen, learn, apply knowledge and accept critical feedbackAbility to adapt to a changing work environmentAbility to apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation and spellingDress CodeMeets Scheels dress and grooming expectations in support of professional, clean and welcoming environment for customers, co-workers and business partnersEfficiencyDemonstrate pride and ownership of their work while meeting expected deadlinesEducation & Experience:The ideal candidate will be seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Retail Merchandising, Apparel Studies, or related field and must be at a Junior or Senior status to apply.Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodationSedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
