We are searching for extraordinary Hardware Engineers to take ownership in the development and system integration of very high-performance, compact camera modules and depth-sensing hardware such as the revolutionary 8x Telephoto camera with the 200mm optical zoom integrated into the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max!\",\"responsibilities\":\"Definition and trade-off studies of RGB camera optics, sensors, actuators, and packaging.\n\nInteraction with optical, electrical, process, controls, systems, sensing, test, and mechanical teams on integration of camera hardware into products.\n\nLeadership of offshore manufacturing partners on camera design evaluation, product prototype builds, and qualification.\n\nLeadership of failure analysis and corrective action implementation at manufacturing sites as well as remotely, including assembly processes, testing, and calibration; parametric-data analysis of end-of-line yield and post-reliability failures.\n\nEvaluation and debugging of camera HW at module and product levels for Camera/- Depth Design and Integration.\n\nDocumentation of camera-specific design, test, and manufacturing requirements.\n\nUp to 20% international travel may be required to supplier facilities for product development and production bring-up.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n3 years of industry experience\n\nExperience delivering products at scale from concept to mass production meeting yield, reliability, and efficiency targets\n\nUnderstanding of geometric optics and image quality evaluation including test charts, algorithms, lighting, image/depth sensor design, or characterization\n\nKnowledge of failure analysis techniques including optical microscopy, X-ray, CT scans, SEM, etc. Ability in root-cause and corrective-action analysis\n\nUnderstanding of compact module manufacturing processes such as sensor attachment, flex attachment, active alignment, etc.\n\nUnderstanding of geometric optics and image quality evaluation including test charts, algorithms, and lighting conditions\n\nProficiency in electronic circuit and system design including power delivery, signal integrity, including modules coexistence\n\nDesign and analysis of highly constrained, high-volume systems, including multiple optomechanical modules\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or equivalent)\n\nExperience in design or manufacturing or integration of optomechanical products\n\nAbility to travel internationally\n\nPay & Benefits\n\nAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,300 and $214,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.\n\nApple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
