We are seeking exceptional, experienced Engineers to collaborate in achieving these goals.\nJob Description\nAs a Senior Engineer, you will manage a variety of geotechnical projects of moderate complexity and work on more complex projects under the supervision of the Principal and Associate Engineers. The preferred candidate will primarily manage projects in the Marin or Napa County areas for both public and private clients and be responsible for all phases of work from proposal preparation to project closeout, either independently or in collaboration with other Senior/Associate level personnel. This position could be based in our Novato, Petaluma, or Napa offices. Job responsibilities typically include:\nPreparation of proposals, budget estimates, project schedules, project highlights, and Statements of Qualifications (SOQ);\nDesign and execution of subsurface data collection, laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation/monitoring;\nPerformance of geotechnical analyses for seismic design, liquefaction/lateral spreading, slope stability, settlement, and other relevant hazards;\nDevelopment of conceptual feasible options for mitigation of unique geologic hazards including seismic shaking, liquefaction, slope instability, expansive soils, and others;\nDevelopment of geotechnical criteria and recommendations for seismic design, site grading/earthwork, foundation design, retaining wall design, subsurface drainage, and other geotechnical project components;\nGeotechnical review of Civil, Structural, and other relevant project plans;\nSupervision of geotechnical observation and testing activities during construction;\nResponse to peer-review comments, RFI’s, and other requests for geotechnical consultation with clients, design professionals, and third-party reviewers and regulators;\nPreparation of technical reports, supporting graphics, and other project documentation, including feasibility- and design-level geotechnical studies and data reports, plan review letters, observation and testing summary letters, scope/budget addenda, and others;\nSupervision, mentorship, and review of work product by Project and Staff-level personnel;\nCollaboration with other Senior to Principal level personnel to update, refine, and improve Company policies, procedures, workflows, and culture.\nKey Skills and Abilities\nProfessional, friendly demeanor and exceptional written and verbal communication skills in the office and on the jobsite;\nStrong work ethic, sense of ownership and pride, and attention to details;\nStrong sense of personal expertise limits, geotechnical consultant role limitations, and attention to loss prevention and liability considerations;\nFamiliarity with common professional services contract terms and language;\nProficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and other common software;\nOrganized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on client needs and project schedules;\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout the greater Bay Area as needed;\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally;\nAbility to stand or walk for prolonged periods on rough or uneven terrain;\nAbility to adhere to all Company, OSHA, and jobsite policies regarding personnel health and safety.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHolds a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent;\nHolds a valid Geotechnical Engineering (GE) license in the state of California;\nMinimum of 8-years’ work experience in an increasingly responsible role, including at least 3 years of geotechnical project management;\nFamiliar with common design codes and standards, including the California Building Code (CBC), ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, and Caltrans;\nExperienced and proficient at relevant geotechnical analyses using common software (Rocscience, Cliq, L-PILE, Shoring Suite, RetainPro, etc.) for geologic hazards and deep foundation design);\nExperienced and proficient with design of retaining structures and rehabilitation systems, including soldier-pile, reinforced concrete, shotcrete, soil nails, and tiebacks;\nOrganized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as required to support the projects current needs;\nMaintains valid driver’s license and a vehicle to perform site visits and occasionally transport supplies/equipment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with (highly variable) geologic and geotechnical conditions in the Bay Area;\nPrevious project management and geotechnical consulting experience with municipal to County and State-level public agencies, including utility districts and public works clients;\nPrevious experience with geotechnical consultation and design on in-situ roadway recycling and rehabilitation projects;\nFamiliarity with DSA/CGS requirements for public school projects;\nActive participation in relevant professional or civic organizations.\nBenefits\nCompetitive base salary (negotiable within specified range, depending on experience);\nAnnual bonus opportunities;\n3% 401(K) contribution (no matching required);\n5% contribution to Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP);\nGenerous holiday and paid time off plan – 8 paid holidays and accrued paid time off starting at 14-days and increasing to 20-days with years of service;\nHealth, dental, life and vision insurance;\nShort- and long-term disability insurance;\nVehicle mileage and site use reimbursement;\nTool, equipment, and work boot reimbursement;\nCompany-sponsored training and certifications.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $143,250.00 -
