Position: Press Operator ILocation: Elk Grove VillagePay Rate: $28.14/hourShift: Day Shift | 5:45 AM - 6:15 PM | 12-hour continental shift (3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend)Summary DescriptionThe Press Operator I reports directly to the Department Manager and is responsible for supporting press operations, maintaining workflow and print quality, and safely operating printing equipment according to company procedures and standards.What You'll Be DoingAssist Press Operators to maintain workflow and print quality on assigned press runsBring materials for press setups to press sitesClean presses during job changesPerform setup, operation, and feeding of cylinder-type printing presses to produce a variety of productsOperate printing press equipment according to company printing procedures and guidelinesDirect Press Helpers according to company printing proceduresSet up jobs with assistance and monitor print quality while the press is runningMaintain responsibility for quality and safe operating procedures during setup and productionCommunicate job status and critical details with the opposite shift operator during shift changesCheck first-piece conformance to specificationsPerform daily and periodic preventive maintenance on assigned equipmentMaintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areasUtilize satellite containers for hazardous waste handlingFollow equipment cleaning and sanitation procedures and complete sanitation checklistsFollow GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPsConduct and document all quality checks for intermediate productFollow CCP monitoring proceduresRefer production difficulties to group leader or supervisor for analysis and correctionReport all food safety violations to managementFollow all safety rulesParticipate in TOPPAN/SPS performance system activities including 5Star, pillar teams, audits, and near missesMaintain regular attendance and punctualityPerform other duties as assignedWe'd Love to Hear From You IfYou have strong mechanical aptitudeYou have excellent math skillsYou can speak, read, and write English proficientlyPrevious press operator experience is preferredYou can perform moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting up to 60 poundsYou have strong communication skillsYou can maintain continuous mental and visual attention throughout the shiftBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support overall wellbeing.
