This individual will design, develop, and implement all aspects of electrical control systems related to equipment and machinery for the water treatment industry. The focus will be on machine automation. This individual will receive direction from Sr. and lead level personnel and is expected to complete difficult troubleshooting and programing. The Controls Engineer will represent PWTech out in the field when required and will be responsible for maintaining good relations with current and prospective customers.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform design and engineering functions in accordance with accepted practices and company standards.\nPrepare project scopes of work, preliminary design concepts, and cost estimates for small projects. Assist in gathering field data and preparing project specifications.\nAnalyzing project requirements and performing technical calculations to support design including electrical requirements, communication requirements, programming, and motor controls.\nCreating electrical, software design of customized solutions including water treatment automation and safety systems.\nArchitecting programs that are simple to test, well documented and versatile.\nMaintaining accurate records and files according to quality standard.\nCreating accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials).\nDocumentation of system, software, and configuration processes.\nInterpreting client requirements, identifying and addressing design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget\nSupporting sales team in pre-sales technical concept, quoting, and budgeting activities.\nSupports the Service Department with machine fault resolution and related controls issues. Service needs may develop in the evening, weekends, or holidays and minimum travel to support installations, breakdowns and other service-related issues is possible.\nQualifications:\nBA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience\n0-2 Years of Experience.\nProficient with reading and creating technical drawings and using AutoCAD\nStrong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs (RS Logix 5000,500), UniLogic is a plus\nHMI / OIT Development experience with Rockwell and/or Unistream\nStrong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of power, sensor, and communications systems\nAble to balance multiple projects and efficiently plan work tasks to meet company goals\nCritical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments\nProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment\nGood understanding of mechanical principals\nAble to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs including possible emergency call-out, extended hours and some out-of-town and overnight work\nWorking Conditions\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
