{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ebc8258dc3f1ce7e39676472","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ebc8258dc3f1ce7e39676472","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ebc8258dc3f1ce7e39676472","title":"Data/Migration Engineer","description":"Overview:\n\nThe Data/Migration Engineer is responsible for executing and supporting all data migration, cleansing, profiling, and transformation activities required to modernize systems and move data between environments (production lower environments, legacy modern VA platforms such as BIP/AWS VAEC) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.\n\nResponsibilities:\nEnsures data quality, prepares test data, manages database refresh operations, and supports BI, FinOps, and data governance initiatives.\nExecute data profiling, cleansing, and migration strategies, including creation of test data.\nSupport development and implementation of data migration strategies, plans, requirements, and testing across environments.\nMaintain repeatable processes and scripts to mask/sanitize data when databases are refreshed from production.\nDetect and resolve data quality issues, performing analysis on causes, impacts, and remediation.\nMaintain Architecture Document Artifacts and participate in peer reviews.\nSupport creation and maintenance of Data Models, Data Dictionaries, Data Catalogs, and migration documentation\nManage DDL/DML updates, database refreshes, and masking/sanitization processes.\nExecute data profiling, cleansing, migration strategies, and test data creation.\nManage DDL/DML updates, database refreshes, and masking/sanitization processes.\nSupport BI integration, FinOps reporting analysis, and data quality monitoring.\nQualifications:\n\nRequired:\n\nBachelor’s Degree in computer science or IT with 10+ years' experience\nExperience in data migration, data cleansing, profile analysis, ETL/ELT processing, and transformation.\nExperience executing DDL/DML updates, performing database refreshes, and implementing data masking/sanitization processes.\nExperience supporting cloud migration efforts (AWS, VAEC) and legacy data modernization.\nExperience providing BI support, FinOps data analysis, and quality monitoring activities.\nExperience developing test data, managing database performance, and supporting migration tools\nKnowledge of database migration tools (Liquibase, Flyway, DMS, GoldenGate, etc.) and cloud data services\nStrong understanding of masking/sanitization techniques and compliance requirements for handling VA data\nPublic Trust\n\nPreferred:\n\nUse of Oracle; DMS, GoldenGate, AWS Glue, Pentaho; legacy modernization\n\nCompany Overview:\n\nIntegral partners with federal defense, intelligence, and civilian leaders to tackle their most important challenges and deliver positive outcomes.
