Scrum MasterLocation: San Diego, CA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery efforts within a growing organization undergoing Agile transformation.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in low-to-mid Agile maturity environments and can bring structure, accountability, and consistency to delivery. You will act as a servant leader—guiding teams through Agile adoption while driving measurable improvements in execution, predictability, and team performance.The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading Scrum teams in software or IT environments, along with the ability to influence teams and stakeholders through change.Key ResponsibilitiesAgile Delivery & FacilitationFacilitate all core Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectivesEnsure consistent execution of Agile practices and sprint cadencesDrive accountability and delivery discipline across the teamAgile Coaching & TransformationCoach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum best practicesSupport Agile adoption in an environment still maturing in its Agile journeyReinforce Agile mindset, continuous improvement, and team ownershipBacklog & Stakeholder AlignmentPartner closely with Product Owners to refine, prioritize, and manage the product backlogEnsure clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and sprint readinessAlign stakeholders on priorities, expectations, and delivery timelinesImpediment Removal & Team EnablementIdentify and remove blockers impacting team productivity and sprint executionShield the team from external disruptions to maintain focus and delivery momentumPromote a collaborative and high-performing team environmentMetrics, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementTrack and report Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, sprint health) to drive transparency and accountabilityUse data to identify trends and implement process improvementsImprove delivery predictability and team efficiency over timeProcess & Engineering AlignmentPromote Agile engineering best practices including CI/CD, test-driven development, and iterative deliveryCollaborate with leadership and other Scrum Masters to standardize Agile practices across teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), SAFe Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, or similar certification5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in software development, IT, or transformation environmentsExperience leading teams through multiple Agile project lifecyclesStrong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe)Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, or similarProven ability to drive Agile transformation in evolving or low-maturity environmentsStrong facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to influence without authority and operate in fast-paced environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience working in organizations undergoing Agile transformationStrong coaching mindset with the ability to balance accountability and team trustData-driven approach to improving delivery performanceAbility to speak Spanish is a strong plus
