Litigation Legal Assistant – Boutique Defense Litigation Firm

CK Trials is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our growing defense litigation team. We are a fast-paced litigation firm handling complex and high-stakes matters, and we are looking for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.This is a hands-on role with exposure to all phases of litigation and the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of cases from inception through trial.Chicago, IL / Full Time / In OfficeResponsibilities:• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation• Draft, revise, format and e-file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents• Manage case files and maintain organized electronic and physical document systems• Track deadlines, court filings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial schedules• Assist with discovery, including drafting responses and managing document production• Communicate professionally with clients, experts, insurance carriers, courts, and opposing counsel• Coordinate depositions, mediations, expert meetings, and court appearances• Prepare trial materials, including exhibits, binders, witness files, and trial notebooks• Handle State and Federal e-filing• Assist with attorney time entry and billing support as neededQualifications:• 5+ years of litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred• Prior experience in litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense, or trial support strongly preferred• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel• Experience with document management systems and litigation software is a plus• Knowledge of court filing procedures and litigation workflows preferredPreferred Skills:• Trial preparation experience• Experience working with medical records, chronologies, or complex case files• Familiarity with Outlook, Teams, Westlaw, NetDocuments, or similar platformsWhat We Offer:• Competitive compensation based on experience • Benefits include life and AD&D insurance, LTD insurance, shared-cost health insurance, employee-paid dental and vision insurance, 401k, Uber Business Program for Metra riders, free access to building fitness center, and discounted parking program • Professional growth and long-term career opportunitiesTo apply, please submit your resume and a brief introduction.
