Through your day to day activities, your key objectives are:\nProvide consistent and thorough updates to clients\nBe a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to our clients’ technology staff\nEnsure you are always taking into account the clients security when implementing new technologies or making changes for our clients\nOBJECTIVES – YEAR ONE\nEngage with clients, lead projects, and be a technical escalation point for support staff\nBecome an expert in one of our top client’s containerized environment\nBecome proficient in other listed job requirements\nJOB SUMMARY\nMust be a self-starter, able to work through issues from start to finish with little assistance, reporting on root cause providing recommendations for resolution.\nShould have previous hands on Linux server experience and must be comfortable with taking escalations on advanced server issues from the rest of the support organization.\nOn-call is required as a part of this role. Engineer would be expected to be available when necessary to take escalations from systems engineers and team leads.\nMust be flexible to work long days or weekends when necessary for client implementations, systems upgrades, or other projects.\nExpected to work as part of a team, not on an island, and be openly collaborative when working through issues with other team members so they can address issues during future occurrences.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nSpeak to clients regarding their technology needs and making recommendations\nTroubleshoot issues promptly and perform Root Cause Analysis\nWork cases from a ticketing system and provide quality updates to clients and team\nDocument all work completed and train support staff on client systems\nREQUIREMENTS\n3-5+ years Linux server administration experience including but not limited to:\nStrong understanding of Linux patch/package management.\nStrong understanding of File System Technologies including (NFS, GlusterFS, AutoFS, Samba, CIFS)\nStrong understanding of OS performance tuning.\nStrong understanding of rsync.\nStrong understanding of using OS tools to diagnose hardware issues\nShell scripting\n2-4+ years Storage/Network experience from Linux/UNIX perspective\nAbility to troubleshoot SAN issues\nAbility to troubleshoot iSCSI.\nAbility to troubleshoot networking issues\n1-3+ years in centralized authentication services, e.g. Powerbroker preferred\n1-3+ years working with containers is a must. Docker preferred.\n1-3+ years in Automation tools, e.g. Puppet/Ansible, preferred\n2-3+ years VMWare ESXi preferred.
